Partnership in Corporate Giving

Pollin Group’s passion for, and commitment to, the cruise industry is legendary.

Pollin Group’s Partnership in Corporate Giving program provides 501-3c organizations with a fun-raising opportunity for their cause.  Pollin Group will donate a portion of its cruise profit to your choice of 501-3c.

Also, the company’s founder and owner, Jim Pollin, has been actively involved in saving the SS United States, a luxury passenger liner built in 1952. This beautiful vessel was originally designed to capture the trans-Atlantic speed record and serve for transporting U.S. troops, if needed.  The ship is currently anchored in Philadelphia, PA.

Our Team

Jim Pollin

FOUNDER/OWNER

In 1991, Jim Pollin decided it was time to experience a cruise ship. As he boarded the Queen Elizabeth 2 in New York, he could feel the excitement growing as he ascended the gangway of this magnificent palace at sea. Fourteen days later, when he arrived in Los Angeles, he knew his passion had been transformed from an avocation into a professional and personal calling.

He then left a 17-year career in the airline industry to embark on a new career in cruise travel. Jim was fortunate enough to have been selected by Royal Caribbean International (RCI) while studying Cruise Line Management at Florida International University in Miami.

In 1998 Jim moved the Pollin Group to Chevy Chase, Maryland, to be closer to his clients.

In 2006, The Pollin Group took another major step in its ongoing path to success by joining CruiseOne as an independently-owned and operated franchise. This unique opportunity gave Pollin Group a powerful network of resources to ensure competitiveness and viability in an ever-changing industry.

This partnership has been especially rewarding. Pollin Group has been recognized as Franchise of the Year by both CruiseOne and the International Franchise Association.

Geisha Cumberbatch

SALES DIRECTOR

In 2008, Geisha joined Pollin Group, LLC and the rest, as they say, was history — in this case, cruise history.

After training and assisting with her first group onboard a cruise ship, she became utterly passionate about promoting and selling meetings at sea.

Geisha is Pollin Group’s bilingual English and Spanish Sales Director with more than 15 years of experience assisting senior executives in multinational companies in a wide range of industries, including: international development, chemical manufacturing, legal, IT and banking telecommunications.

As those who work with her know well, Geisha is a highly motivated person with a proven track record in cruise planning, decision-making and problem solving. Her major strengths include the ability to see the big picture and then organize with an attention to detail, craft highly personalized travel arrangements, coordinate onboard events, and oversee multiple tasks within tight calendar demands.

Tracy Dukes

SALES DIRECTOR

Tracy has well over 25 years of experience in the cruise industry.

Her interest in cruising began back in the early 90’s as an employee for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Starting in an entry level position, she quickly advanced to become one of the most energetic and well-liked Pier Coordinators in the company’s history.

Seeing how much excitement cruising brought her guests, she soon discovered that travel was her calling. After a successful eight-year professional career with Royal Caribbean, she moved on to take part in an unprecedented meeting and incentive business, “Meetings at Sea”, located in Miami, Florida. Through advanced training and numerous educational cruise programs, she quickly learned the business and the benefits of cruise ship meetings.

Meetings at Sea subsequently relocated to the Washington, DC area and today is known as The Pollin Group, where Tracy has continued to evolve as one of the most high-powered and dedicated sales directors in her field. Her enthusiasm and keen ability to create the perfect program for her clients has led her to a successful career in organizing small to large size groups for both businesses and associations throughout the U.S.

Tracy’s clientele continues to grow as she steadily incorporates additional ways to enhance the experience of each guest — year after year…one group at a time. As the dedicated group specialist at Pollin Group, it is her pleasure to organize your next event at sea!  She’ll take your attendees places they’ve never dreamed of!
